What is UX?
User experience includes everything that the user interacts with a product or service. In this digital world, companies are trying to improve their user experience which means they want their users have a better interaction with the digital service, product such as software, mobile application, website, smartphones. These interactions are not limited to how they think and feel when using the products including the appearance of the products, functionality - how the product works, usability - if the product is easy to used, general impression - if it is helpful, innovative, easy to navigate. Not to confuse UX with UI which is user interface, also an important part of User Experience.
How to improve the effectiveness of UX Design?
First thing you want to do to improve UX as a designer is to do your market research and analysis. Demographic research is the basic step of collecting users’ information: age, professionals and occupation, income, the devices usage, technology using habit, what mobile apps or online service they already use. There are several tactics you can use to collect data such as surveys, polling, statistics, or even interview random people on the street.
Second, practice the effective and responsive design strategies. Minimalism has created a deep influence on graphic design, product design industry so keeping a design simple with three-color scheme and plenty room for white space is encouraged. This doesn’t mean you have to limit your creativity but adjust it accordingly with the more preferred goal. Always make the critical features the most visible to users such as search bar, mobile app icons, contact site. For website, arrange the pages that make it easy for navigation in general. Information should be within standard of readability. Use contrast colors to help highlighting certain contents.
When you already have a service to provide for users, get as much feedback as possible from their experience for maintenance. Then find the best way to incorporate the feedback into your design process. Customers love a physical products that are easy to operate, convenient at hands just like digital users love an interactive, human compatiable service, not a machine or a robotic service. Focus on the improvement of UX is one of the key concern when promoting your content on SEO tools. Ensure that your website is mobile friendly in term of resolution and navigation. The loading speed is just as important to UX design as it is to improving SEO ranking.
